e-Platform 3.0: BYD's Latest EV Platform

e-Platform 3.0 is the architecture BYD built specifically for electric vehicles from the ground up, rather than adapting an existing combustion-engine platform — allowing the battery, motor, and every other system to be positioned exactly where it works best.

Its standout feature is an integrated powertrain: the motor, reduction gear, and drive control electronics are combined into a single unit. This cuts overall size and weight, and results in a flatter floor with a lower center tunnel, freeing up noticeably more cabin space.

On the charging side, the platform supports a high-voltage electrical architecture, enabling faster DC fast-charging speeds than earlier platforms — meaning less time spent waiting at charging stations on longer trips.

e-Platform 3.0 is also engineered to work with the Blade Battery in a cell-to-body arrangement, strengthening the vehicle's structure and overall safety. Several of the electric models BYD NOVA carries today are built on this platform.
