Dashboard Warning Lights You Should Know

Modern instrument clusters display a wide range of warning icons. Understanding what the colors and symbols generally mean helps you react correctly and safely whenever one lights up while driving.

Yellow or amber icons typically indicate something that needs attention soon, but isn't an immediate emergency — for example, a low tire pressure warning or a brake-assist or driver-assistance system fault. Get the car checked at a service center as soon as reasonably possible.

Red icons carry a more serious meaning and call for immediate attention — for example, an abnormally high battery or motor temperature warning, a brake system warning, or a door-ajar warning. If you see one of these, find a safe place to pull over and check immediately, or contact a service center for assistance.

If you're ever unsure what a specific icon means, check your owner's manual for details, or reach out to the BYD NOVA service center to ask and book a check-up right away.
