BYD Dolphin 5,000 km Service Check: What Is Inspected?

This Evidence Case explains the inspection checklist and service-process imagery prepared from information supplied by the service team. It is not a result report for a specific vehicle, so it does not claim that any item passed, failed, or had a defect. No customer, registration, or other personal data is included.

The vehicle should be presented when it reaches 5,000 kilometres or 3 months, whichever comes first. The work actually performed may vary according to the owner's manual, the vehicle's condition, and the service centre's requirements.

1) Braking system — brake pads, discs, and brake fluid are inspected to help keep stopping performance ready for use. Tool types may include a brake-pad thickness gauge and basic workshop tools.

2) Tyres and wheels — tread depth, tyre pressure, and wear patterns are inspected for safety and tyre life. Tool types may include a tyre-pressure gauge and tread-depth gauge.

3) Suspension, under-bonnet area, and fluids — suspension condition, mounting points, fluid levels, and visible leaks are inspected to assess driving stability and identify abnormalities. Tool types may include a vehicle lift, general workshop tools, and visual inspection.

4) 12V battery — voltage and operating condition are checked to support normal vehicle electrical operation. Tool types may include a multimeter or battery tester.

5) Vehicle software and OTA — the software version and update status are checked so the vehicle can use an appropriate current version. Tool types may include a scan tool and the service centre's update system.

6) Air-conditioning — operation and cooling performance are inspected. Tool types may include a thermometer, air-conditioning pressure gauges, and visual inspection.

7) ADAS driver-assistance systems — cameras, sensors, and system status are checked to assess the readiness of driver-assistance and safety functions. Tool types may include a scan tool, checks through the vehicle display, and visual inspection of cameras and sensors.

8) Lighting, signals, and wipers — headlights, tail lights, indicators, brake lights, hazard lights, and wiper operation are checked for basic road safety through functional and visual inspection.

9) Charging port and connector — the port, connector, cover, dirt, and visible abnormalities are inspected for charging readiness and safety. This may involve visual inspection, a scan tool, or an appropriate charging test.

10) Electrical and cabin equipment — the display, audio, power windows, central locking, and other functions are checked for readiness. This may involve a scan tool and functional checks.

Before the visit, book an appointment, prepare the vehicle information and documents requested by the service centre, and report any unusual noise, vibration, warning light, or additional inspection request during vehicle reception.

After service, retain the inspection sheet or service receipt as evidence of the visit. If you are unsure whether an item is covered by a service entitlement or package such as RÊVER Care, ask the service centre before your appointment.
